Author Carol McNeill has always enjoyed writing, with a particular interest in local history and collecting memories of earlier years. With a background of journalism, both freelance and as a staff writer on local newspapers, she has been writing books for the past ten years.
"Our lives and conditions have changed so much over the past 50 or 60 years, and many towns and villages today have altered almost beyond recognition" says Carol, "I feel it's very important that our heritage and history should be recorded, both in words and images. I am particularly interested in collecting memories and reminiscences from older people, who can pass on their recollections of what it was like when they were growing up in a time which is very different from the present day.
"I hope my books will give some idea of what it was like days gone by, and will perhaps help to encourage an appreciation of our existing heritage which will hopefully remain for future generations."
